COUNCIL WORK SESSION

Mayor Millirons called the Work Session to order at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA. Mayor Millirons recessed the Work Session at 7:30 p.m. for the regular council meeting.  The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular council meeting.

 

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

  1. Dan Defnall – Finance Amendments (2004-05 Fiscal Year Unaudited).

 

  1. Rail (September 15th, Passed GDOT board by 7-5 vote).

 

  1. In The Fullness of Time (Melly Meadows and Ms. Rainwater) Councilman Tom LaPorte mad a motion to fund the tourism presentation for the 14Th consecutive year. Councilman Sorrow seconded the motion. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it was unanimous to approve the funding of $5,000. The funding will come from the tourism budget and the MBTA contract.

 

  1. Northridge Condo – BellSouth Issue (Agreement Pending Payment).

 

  1. D.R. Horton (Architectural Approval- Home Elevations).

 

  1. C-Tran Issues (Kelley Drive- Request Bust Stop removal).

 

  1. Gateway Village Signage (Proposal and Comments).

 

  1. Pathway System (Final Draft-Right of Way Next Phase).

 

  1. RS-80 Zoning Modifications (Draft).

 

  1. BID Districts (Creation @ Southlake (Twin Creaks and Lewis Welch), International District, Gateway, and City hall)?

 

  1. National Firefighters Combat Challenge (Oct. 14-16 @ Target).

 

  1. Annexation (Lake Harbin, Residential, Public Hearing on October 11, 2005).

 

  1. Annexation (Peacock Blvd. - Petition Pending).

 

  1. Red Light Camera System (Pending Analysis from Test).

 

  1. Georgia Power LCI Property (Price Agreement, Pending Contract).

 

  1. Bhole Property, 1117 Mt. Zion Rd.  (Closed Yesterday).

 

  1. 6066 Navaho Tr. Property Purchase (Renovating).

 

  1. Former Lewis Welch Property (Sales Contract w/Major Restaurant Pending).
