COUNCIL WORK SESSION

Mayor Millirons called the Work Session to order at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA. Mayor Millirons recessed the Work Session at 7:30 p.m. for the regular council meeting.  The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular council meeting.

 

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

  1. Create Community Award (Nov. 18th7:30 – 9:30 AM) RSVP?

 

  1. Southlake Mall Sign Permits.

 

  1. Voting Options.

 

  1. Southlake Redevelopment (Update and GGP on Nov. 3rd).

 

  1. HOV Lanes (I-75 from Hudson Bridge to Hwy 54).

 

  1. Red Light Camera System (Contract Pending).

 

  1. RS-80 Zoning Modifications (Final Draft).

 

  1. DDA Appointments 2006

Mayor Jim Millirons resigned his position on the Morrow Downtown Development Authority effective October 31, 2005, to continue the planned formation of the board of directors. Councilman Tom LaPorte made a motion to appoint City Manager John Lampl to replace Mayor Jim Millirons with a term that expires on December 31, 2009. The motion was seconded by Councilman Bob Huie. Mayor Jim Millirons called for a vote and it was approved unanimously.

  1. Rare and Used Book Sale (Archives – Nov. 4th & 5th).

 

  1. Mayor’s Day – GMA (January 21-23).

 

  1. Annexation (Peacock Blvd. – December Request).

 

  1. Georgia Power LCI Property (Pending Easement Survey and Final Contract).

 

  1. 6066 Navaho Tr. Property Purchase (Renovating).

 

  1. Former Lewis Welch Property (Sales Contract w/Major Restaurant Pending).

 

  1. Graceland Park (Pending).

 

  1. Pathway System (Right of Way - Pending).

 

  1. Morrow Tourist Center, Lisa Sewell was recognized as a Distinguished Community Partner from WorkTec on Oct. 18th, 2005
