The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

 

  1. Employee Benefit Discussion (Mike Twomey).

 

  1. FAR Part 150 Noise Exposure Maps – Oct.9th Public Hearing Update.

 

  1. ISO Rating 3 – Pizza Party and Open House – Sunday, Oct. 22nd @ 4 PM – Morrow Fire Station.

 

  1. Jester’s Creek Trail Subdivision Entrance Concept.

 

  1. LOST - (Update & Pending Issues).
    1. Finance
    2. Legal

 

  1. Morrow DDA Meeting (Oct. 10th @ 10 AM - Update).
    1. Line of Credit for the DDA (Update).
    2. Morrow The Time is Now – Opportunity (Update).

                                                               i.      The City Manager requested the authority to enter into a purchase contract for a defined blighted property. An agreement with the Morrow DDA was approved earlier in the day. After discussion and concern, Councilman Slaton made a motion to authorize the City Manager to proceed with the contract with defined stipulations and ranges for purchase. Councilman Sorrow seconded the motion. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it passed 3-1. Councilman Slaton, Councilman Sorrow, and Councilman LaPorte voted in favor of the purchase and Councilman Huie voted against the purchase.

 

 

 

  1. Morrow Tourist Center Dedication as a “Regional Visitor Information Center” – (Sunday, October 15th from 2PM until 4PM).

 

  1. Lake Harbin – Meadowbrook Annexation (Oct. 17th - P&Z, Oct. 24th - Final Vote City Council).

 

  1. Safe Halloween (Tuesday, Oct. 31st From 6PM until 8PM @ City Hall).

 

  1. Adult Oriented Businesses (Nov. 14th - Public Hearing & 1st Reading * Nov. 28th -2nd Reading and Vote By City Council).

 

  1. CBS Offer for Outdoor Advertising Settlement (Pending Attorney Review)

 

  1. Second Fire Station (Pending Station Construction).

 

  1. Pathway System (Right of Way – Pending Acquisitions?)
    1. Two properties were appraised and negotiated by the City of Morrow for the path system. Councilman Slaton made a motion to approve their purchase at the negotiated amount and Councilman Sorrow seconded the motion. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it passed unanimously.

 

  1. Lake Harbin/Meadowbrook Property Concept (Pending).

 

  1. 6066 Navaho Tr. Property (Property For Sale).

 

  1. Pond LCI (Finished- GDOT Reviewing).

 

  1. Economic Development / Police Substation Opportunity (Pending).
