COUNCIL WORK SESSION

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

 

  1. 2006-07 Budget (Discussion and Review).

 

  1. Police Chief (Housing Concern).

The Mayor presented the City Council with a housing opportunity for Chief Baker which would enable him to purchase a house in the City limits, pending the sale of his current home. A motion to enter in a short-term purchase contract with the City to allow construction of a home for Chief Baker in the City of Morrow was made by Councilman Slaton and was seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The Mayor called for a vote to enter into a short –term purchase contract and it passed unanimously.

 

  1. Economic Development / Police Substation Opportunity.

The City Manager presented the City Council with an opportunity to acquire property for a police substation and redevelopment. After discussion, the Mayor asked for a motion. A motion to enter in a purchase contract with due diligence was made by Councilman Slaton and was seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The Mayor called for a vote to enter in a purchase contract with due diligence and it passed unanimously.

 

  1. CCMA Meeting (Thursday, 7 PM @ Holiday In South).

 

  1. LOST April Monthly Distribution Issue.

 

  1. May 2006 DCA Letter on Solid Waste Management Plan.

 

 

  1. Service Delivery (HB 489 expired on April 28, 2006  * Researching and Defining Issues).

 

  1. GMA Annual Conference – June 23rd-27th.

 

  1. 6066 Navaho Tr. Property (Final Punch List).

 

  1. Graceland Park (Under Construction).

 

  1. Pathway System (Right of Way - Pending).

 

  1. Pond LCI Redesign (Finished- GDOT Reviewing).

 

13. Southlake Redevelopment (Pending).
