COUNCIL WORK SESSION

Mayor Millirons called the Work Session to order at 6:00 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA.

Mayor Millirons recessed the Work Session at 7:30 p.m. for the regular council meeting.  The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular council meeting.

 

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

1.      2005-06 Budget (Council Discussions).

2.      D.R. Horton (Approved House Elevations).

3.      York Park Dedication (Saturday – June 11th)?

4.      “Day in the Park” Saturday, May 14th.

5.      Morrow Teen Driving Clinic (Saturday, May 21, 2005 sponsored by PD).

6.      GMA Savannah Conference – June 25-28.

7.      Land Purchase (Southlake Property- purchase complete).

8.      Other Strategic Properties and Issues.

A.     Purchase a parcel of property for dedicated pathway.

                                                                           i.      Motion By Councilman Slaton, Second by Councilman Sorrow – Unanimous

B.     Loan the Morrow Development/Redevelopment Authority $650,000 for the purchase of a strategic property.

                                                                           i.      Motion by Councilman Slaton, Second by Councilman Sorrow

-         Councilman Slaton and Sorrow vote for loan approval

-         Councilman Huie and LaPorte vote against loan approval

-         Mayor Millirons breaks the tie with a vote for loan approval

9.      Fire Department (New Chief’s First Day June 6th).

10.  Trail System (Pending).

11.  Left turn arrow @ 54 and Oxford / Adamson Parkway (Pending).

12.  Intergovernmental Agreement - Water Authority (Pending).

13.  Southlake Riverfront District (Pending).

14.  C-Tran Intergovernmental Agreement (Pending).

15.  Personnel Issue (Acting Chief Broome Appreciation)
