COUNCIL WORK SESSION

June 22nd, 2004

Mayor Millirons called the Work Session to order at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA.

 

Mayor Millirons recessed the Work Session at 7:30 p.m. for the regular council meeting.  The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular council meeting.

 

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

1.      Economic Development (2004 Claritas numbers-Ben Mance).

2.      P&Z/City Council Quarterly Meeting (Thursday, July 8th, 6:30 PM)?

3.      Police Chief Applicants (Review).

4.      Tourism Budget 2004-05.

5.      Legislative Summary ( HB 762 Evictions, HB 1003 Requires License of General Contractors, HB 182 Abatement Liens, HB 1598 Electronic Permits, and HB 709 SPLOST & Land Use).

6.      CCMA Meeting (Thursday, June 24th - 7 PM at the Holiday Inn).

7.      Special Olympic Day (June 26th, Harley Davidson Parade @ 12:30 PM).

8.      GMA Convention (June 26-29).

9.      Summerfest “On the Green” (July 3rd @ 6:00 PM).

10.  Financial Disclosure Reports Due.

11.  Tender Age Learning Center (Property SOLD and DEMO permit issued).

12.  Jeff Eady (Certified Public Works Director- July 16th @ St. Simon)?

13.  Annexation (Burbank and Carla Drive- pending).

14.  Skylark Drive Property (Under Contract).

15.  John Robert Access Road (Design Finished-pending).

16.  Land Purchase (Taco Bell- City owns the property).

17.  Maxie Price (Drive Time –Under Construction).

18.  Southlake Riverfront District (Pending).

19.  C-Tran Intergovernmental Agreement (Pending).
