COUNCIL WORK SESSION

 

January 8, 2008

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

 

  1. Planning Session 2008 - Code Enforcement (Marti Tracy).

 

  1. Planning Session 2008 – Grants (Sylvia Redic).

 

  1. Pilgreen’s Shopping Center Concern

 

  1. Morrow Tourist Center – GDOT Purchase Approval.

The City Manager explained the counter offer from GDOT for the right of way purchase in front of the Morrow Tourist Center. After discussion, Councilman Slaton made a motion to accept the counter offer and it was seconded by Councilman Barfield. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it passed unanimously.

 

  1. ADP Carjacked Information – All Employees.

 

  1. Boys and Girls Club Opportunity.

 

    1. Option Contract.

The City Manager procured an option contract on a parcel of property to allow all parties 60 days of due diligence. After discussion, Councilman Slaton made a motion to execute the option contract and it was seconded by Councilman Barfield. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it passed unanimously.

  1. Path System Construction Schedule – Phase I

 

  1. Annual Planning Session – Saturday, February 23rd, 2008.

  1. Mayor’s Day – GMA – January 26-28 @ Atlanta Hilton.

 

  1. Christmas Volunteer Appreciation – Thursday, January 10th @ 6 PM (Tourist Center).

 

  1. Retirement Party (John Broome and Joyce Bean) 5PM @ Tourist Center.
