COUNCIL WORK SESSION

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

 

  1. Residential Subdivision Speeding Issues: Police Chief Baker – Defined the opportunity to purchase compact radar signs for through streets in the City. A total of ten streets were defined as problem areas. Councilman Huie made a motion to approve the purchase. Councilman Sorrow seconded the motion. Mayor Millirons called for a vote. It passed unanimously.

 

  1. Pathway System Phase I (Right of Way – Pending Final Acquisitions).
    1. Reynolds Property Purchase (Closing on Friday).

 

  1. GDOT HWY 54 Land Purchases (Approval of Offer).
    1. City Manager John Lampl explained the GDOT offer for right of way required on the expansion of Hwy 54. Councilman Slaton made a motion to approve the sale as submitted. It was seconded by Councilman Sorrow. Mayor Millirons called for a vote and it passed unanimously.

 

  1. LCI Discussion (Dutch Property).
    1. City Manager John Lampl defined a challenged property that he recommended for purchase, with provisions, as part of the redevelopment plan. Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the contract negotiations, with stated stipulations. Councilman Slaton seconded the motion. Mayor Millirons called for a vote. Councilmen Sorrow and Slaton voted in favor and Councilman Huie opposed.

 

  1. Olde Morrow (Palmetto House Arrives on Wednesday).

 

  1. GMA Annual Savannah Conference – (June 23 – 26th) Registration?

 

  1. Annexation (Update).

 

  1. LOST - (Pending).

 

  1. Meadowbrook Residential Plan (Update).

 

 

  1. HOV Lane GDOT Jester’s Creek Land Purchase (Pending).

 

  1. March 16th – Former Councilman LaPorte farewell @ Tourist Center.
