COUNCIL WORK SESSION

FEBRUARY 24, 2004

Mayor Millirons called the Work Session to order at 7:00 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, Ga.  30260.

 

Mayor Millirons recessed the Work Session at 7:25 p.m. for the regular council meeting.  The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular council meeting.  Councilman Sorrow had to leave at 7:45 p.m.

 

The topics that were discussed during the Work Session included the following:

 

1.      Storm Water Ordinance (Comments)?

2.      Dillard’s (Friday, 11AM @City Hall)

3.      Annexation (Residential).

4.      Save the Forts Foundation (8 PM-tonight). Council voted to give $5,000 as Morrow’s share to help save Ft. McPherson and Fort Gillem.  Councilman Slaton made the motion which was seconded by Councilman Huie. The vote to contribute the $5,000 was unanimous, and check presented to Grant Wainscott, V.P. of Clayton County Chamber of Commerce, Community Development

5.      Land Purchase (LCI - pending).

6.      Land Purchase (Taco Bell- Approval).

7.      Lee Street Bridge (Update).

8.      Comprehensive Plan Schedule.

9.      Civil Case (Danny Hugh Lyle Case - Dismissed on Feb.20th, 2004).

10.  Future Land Use Planning (M&C/P&Z, Wed., Feb. 25th, 6:00 PM @ City Hall).

11.  2004 New Community Roundtable (Feb.26th, 8AM @ Tourist Center)

12.  Georgia Power Franchise Presentation (Feb. 26th, 11:30 AM @ Eagle’s Landing).

13.  Rail Meeting with Governor Purdue (March 11th, 2:30 PM).

14.  GMA Convention (June 26th- 29th).

15.  Maxie Price (Drive Time - Pending).

16.  Southlake Riverfront District (Pending).

17.  C-Tran Intergovernmental Agreement (Pending).

18.  Personnel Issue (Kenny Smith – New Griffin City Manager).

19.  Personnel Issue (Chris Pike Opportunity).

20.  Personnel Issue (Jeff Eady Evaluation – 19 Years of Service).

There was no further business, and Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 11:00 p.m.
