Mayor Pro Tem Slaton called the Work Session to order at 7:00 p.m. The meeting took place in the Boardroom of the
Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA. Mayor Pro Tem Slaton
the Work Session at 7:30
p.m. for the regular
council meeting. The Work Session resumed after the completion of the regular
council meeting.
The topics that were
discussed during the Work Session included the following:
- Rail Issues (Clayton County
Approves M&O Funding).
- Pathway System Update
(Issues/Revisions).
- Tourism Volunteer Picnic
(Tuesday, August 16th, 6
PM @ Tourist Center).
- Street Print (Twilight
Trail @ Lee Street, Duffey Drive, Patricia Drive, Old Rex Morrow @
Twilight).
- Subdivision Markers (Oxford Drive
w/ fence, Light Poles for Northridge)
- Tar and Turf Race (August
20, 8 AM, in Morrow).
- CPA Class (August 25th
to November 17th).
- Park Property Dispute
Issue.
- Georgia Power Franchise
Agreement (Extension of contract until 2031).
- Motion was made by
Councilman LaPorte to approve the contract extention, Seconded by
Councliman Huie. Mayor Pro Tem Slaton called the question and it passed
unanimously.
- LCI – Property Purchase
Agreement (Special Stipulations).
- Motion was made by Councilman Sorrow to purchase 1.7acres of property on Jonesboro Road for the LCI project, Seconded by Councliman LaPorte. Mayor Pro
Tem Slaton called the question and it passed unanimously.
- Bhole Property, 1117 Mt. Zion Rd. (Pending).
- 6066 Navaho Tr. Property
Purchase (Renovating).
- Lewis Welch Property
Demolition (Landscaping Plan under Review).
- Personnel (Pending).
