Mayor Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                        Work Session               -  October 11, 2005    

                                                                        Regular Meeting           -  October 11, 2005

 

                                                Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Slaton.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

PRESENTATION:

 

                        Mayor Millirons presented Elizabeth Davis with both a Proclamation and a Key to the City. The presentations were made in honor of her late husband, Bruce Davis. Mr. Davis was a former Morrow Councilman and local hero. 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

 

Item 1:            The Planning and Zoning Board submitted a recommendation to annex the property proposed in Ordinance 2005-09 with an RS-80 zoning classification. The Mayor put forth the Second Reading of Ordinance 2005-09 to annex:

 

1836 Lake Harbin Road                   1864 Lake Harbin Road                          

1837 (only 235’ x 170’ fronting        1874 Lake Harbin Road

 

 

Lake Harbin Road)                           1882 Lake Harbin Road

1846 Lake Harbin Road                   1835 Carla Drive

                        Councilman Sorrow made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2005-09, seconded by Councilman Huie.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

                        Item 1: Resolution 2005-14: Mayor Millirons presented Resolution 2005-14, establishing support for a regional transportation funding initiative.

 

                        Councilman Slaton made a motion to adopt Resolution 2005-14, seconded by Councilman Sorrow.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

                       

                        Item 2: Resolution 2005-15: Mayor Millirons presented Resolution 2005-15 to adopt Clayton County Solid Waste Management Plan.

                       

                        Councilman Huie made a motion to adopt Resolution 2005-15, seconded by Councilman LaPorte.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

 


 

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:45 pm.
