Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260. Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Work Session – September 26, 2006
Regular Meeting –September 26, 2006
Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Slaton. The motion passed unanimously.
PRESENTATION:
1. Mayor Millirons and Director of Tourism, Mike Twomey presented five year service pins to employees Becky Dingler and Lisa Sewell. The Mayor thanked them for their years of loyal service to the City.

COMMENTS:
Citizens- A resident, Mr. Danny Rudd, stood to say that his long time friend and neighbor, Mr. Bill Allrid, who attended Council meetings with him, had passed away on Wednesday afternoon from Cardiac Arrest. Mr. Allrid had worked fifty years and eight months for Colonial Bread Stores beginning at age nine as a sack boy. He stated the Doctor in attendance had high praise for the unknown Paramedics/EMT’s on duty who responded to the call that went out on Tuesday evening for Mr. Allrid. Mr. Rudd stated that the personnel on duty were Sergeant Tommy Bowden and EMT Tara Walker. Their quick response and professionalism was appreciated by the family.
City Manager- City Manager John Lampl thanked Lisa Sewell and Becky Dingler for their service to the City of Morrow. He also congratulated the Morrow Fire Department on the accomplishment of receiving an ISO rating of 3 this week. Mr. Lampl, very pleased, stated”we are able to compete with the best in the country.”
Councilmen- Councilman Bob Huie informed the audience that the upcoming Firefighter Challenge would be held at Southlake Pavilion One on this Friday and Saturday.
Mr. John Lampl stated it would be filmed by ESPN and was considered an important event.
Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:40 pm.
