Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260.
Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Work Session - November 9, 2004
Regular Meeting - November 9, 2004
Councilman LaPorte made the motion to approve the minutes as written, seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
None
NEW BUSINESS:
Item 1: Request to approve the subdivision of property located of 1776 Mt.
Zion Road, Building 3000, a/k/a 3000 Corporate Center Drive based
on the survey prepared by H.E. Harper, Land Surveying for DA
Southlake LLC, dated April 21, 2005, last revised April 19, 2001, and
the Grading and Drainage drawing prepared by Timmerman
Engineers for Corporate Center at Southlake, dated April 8, 1988.
Ms. Lisa Byrd, Holland & Knight LLP, Petitioner.
Councilman Huie made a motion to approve the request with the stipulation that all subdivision regulations required by the City are met. Motion seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The vote to approve was unanimous.
Item 2: To declare a 1997 Ford Escort station wagon (VIN 3FALP15P2VR152993)
as surplus property and authorize City Manager John Lampl or his
designated representative to dispose of the property in keeping with
applicable laws

Councilman Slaton made a motion to approve the declaration, seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The vote to approve was unanimous.
COMMENTS:
Citizens- None
City Manager- Mr. Lampl praised the Police Department, Fire Department, Emergency Communications, and citizen volunteers for doing a fantastic job at the train derailment this week at Highway 54 and Lake Harbin Road. He appreciates their dedication and service.
Mayor and Council- Councilman LaPorte welcomed new police officer Josh Stroud and congratulated him on his recent graduation from the Police Academy. Mayor Millirons concurred. Councilman Huie stated that we are glad to have Josh who has been a friend of the city for quite a while by working at Reynolds Nature Preserve, being a graduate of the Citizens’ Police Academy and the CERT program, and now becoming a City police officer.

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:37 p.m.
