Regular Council Meeting

Mayor Pro Tem Virlyn Slaton called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                        Work Session               -  November 8, 2005  

                                                                        Regular Meeting           -  November 8, 2005

 

                                                Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman LaPorte.  The motion passed unanimously.

PUBLIC HEARING:

A Public Hearing was held for the proposed ORDINANCE 2005-(10) amending the 1986 Zoning Ordinance of the City of Morrow, Georgia, as amended, concerning Appendix A. Zoning Ordinance, Title IX Schedule of District Regulations, Section 905A RS-80, Heading: Additional Development Requirements, Items: Landscaping and Exteriors.     

 

PRESENTATION:    

City Manager Lampl made a PowerPoint presentation of the Create Community awards ceremony. Morrow received an award for the planned pedestrian transportation system from the Atlanta Regional Commission.

                       

OLD BUSINESS:

 

No old business.        

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

                                   

                                    Item 1:  Council set forth the first reading of ORDINANCE 2005-(10) as described above during the public hearing.

                                                           

                        Item 2: Council passed a resolution to authorize the Mayor and City Council to approve the submission of the GEORGIA RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM grant to the GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.

 

                        Councilman LaPorte made a motion to approve

                        Resolution 2005-16, seconded by Councilman Sorrow.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

COMMENTS:                       Councilman Slaton complimented the staff.

 

 


 

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:37 pm.
