Mayor Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260. Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Work Session - March 8, 2005
Regular Meeting - March 8, 2005
Councilman Slaton made the motion to approve the minutes as written, seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The motion passed unanimously.
PUBLIC HEARING:
A public hearing was held before the regular council meeting commenced to address ORDINANCE 2005-(02). The ordinance is detailed as:
ORDINANCE 2005-(02) amending the 1986 Zoning Ordinance of the City of Morrow, Georgia, as amended, concerning Article VI, General Provisions, Sections 601-605; Article VII Exceptions, Modifications and Encroachments, Sections 701-708; Article VIII, Application of District Regulations, Sections 801-816; Article IX, Schedule of District Regulations, Sections 901-902A, and 905A; Article XII, Parking and Loading, Section 1202.
There were no comments from the public.
OLD BUSINESS:
None.
NEW BUSINESS:
Item 1: Mayor Millirons swore in two new police officers. Officer Sutton and Officer Tran took their Oath of Office. (this item was a last minute addition to the agenda).
Item 2: First reading of ORDINANCE 2005-(02) as described above during the public hearing.
Item 3: Request for subdivision of property located at 1213 & 1225 Mt. Zion Road. Request made to council by the Surveyor, Angel Marrero.
Councilman Huie made to motion to approve the subdivision of the property, seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The motion passed unanimously.
Item 4: April declared Morrow National Archives month.
Councilman Huie made to motion to approve the April as National Archives month, seconded by Councilman Slaton. The motion passed unanimously.
Item 5: Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant update.

Mayor and Council-
Councilman Sorrow thanked the Mayor and Council for support during his eye surgery.
Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:45p.m.
