Councilman Sorrow called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                        Work Session –                        July 11, 2006  

Regular Meeting –                    July 11, 2006

                                    Councilman Slaton made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The motion passed unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS:

No Old Business

NEW BUSINESS:                

1. First Reading of Ordinance 2006-07 amending Title 5 Public Works: Chapter 2. Solid Waste Collection, Article A. Collection of Residential Refuse, Section 5-2-5 Preparation and storage of acceptable refuse, Letter (B) Place of collection; Backdoor Service, Number (1) Number (3) and Number (4).

COMMENTS:

City Manager, John Lampl explained that Councilman Huie is representing the City and the Police Chief at the Chief’s conference in Savannah. At the conference the Police Department is receiving their state re-certification; they have done a great job.

Councilman Sorrow adjourned the meeting at 7:35 pm.
