Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m. The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260. Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Work Session – June 27, 2006

Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.
PRESENTATION:
1. Mayor Millirons and Chief Herendeen presented a 20 year service pin to Firefighter / Paramedic Sergeant Tommy Bowden
OLD BUSINESS:
No Old Business
NEW BUSINESS:
1. Resolution 2006-07: Imposing a ninety (90) day extension for existing Moratorium on all adult businesses commonly known as Adult Entertainment Establishments, Adult Bookstores, Adult Retail Stores, Adult Video Stores, and Erotic Dance Establishments. The extension will allow the needed time to continue a restudy of City ordinances pertaining to the before mentioned businesses and determine all legal issues in light of recent court decisions.
Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve, Resolution 2006-07 seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.
2. A Called Work Session for the Planning and Zoning Board members and the Mayor and Council on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the Morrow Municipal Complex was announced. A representative from Atlanta Regional Commission will give a presentation on Envision 6, a “scenario-based” approach to planning for future growth.
3. Due to no Agenda items, the July 19, 2006, Planning and Zoning Board meeting was canceled.
COMMENTS:
City Manager – City Manager John Lampl congratulated and thanked Firefighter / Paramedic Sergeant Tommy Bowden for his twenty years of service to the City of Morrow.
Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:36 pm.
