Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

           

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                         Work Session – January 8, 2008

                                                                        Regular Meeting – January 8, 2008

 

Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.

 

PROCLAMATION:

           

            The Mayor presented a PROCLAMATION to Mr. Leroy York honoring him for his service in the US Army and his longtime commitment to the City of Morrow.

 

           

PRESENTATION:           

 

Mayor Millirons and Public Works Director Jeff Eady presented service pins to Ivy Carter (10 years) and Dale Boswell (10 years).

 

Mayor Millirons and Police Chief Jeff Baker presented Scott Olson with his 10 year service pin.

 

Mayor Millirons and Fire Chief Mark Herendeen presented Jeff Foster with his 20 year service pin.

 

 

RECOGNITION:

 

            Sylvia Redic presented gifts and a power point presentation to recognize and thank the Christmas Light Winners for 2007.

 

 

 

 

2007 Neighborhood Christmas Contest Winners:

 

            Santa’s Favorite House:                        1388 John Robert Drive

           

Children’s Choice Award:                     6110 Philips Drive         

 

           Christmas Spirit Award:                        Sky Lark Neighborhood

           

            Honorable Mention:                              1262 Kingston Way

 

      Comments:

 

Clayton County citizen Patricia Barker commented on the roadway project around Olde Morrow, she objected to the project’s effects on her neighborhood.

 

Mr. Cepull of 6110 Phillips Drive thanked the Mayor and Council for the great job they are doing. 

 

 

                                               

Mayor Jim Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:50 pm.
