Regular Council Meeting

Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:             Work Session                - February 14, 2006      

                                                            Regular Meeting            - February 14, 2006

 

                                    Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Slaton. The motion passed unanimously.

 

OLD BUSINESS:

 

It is the intention of the City of Morrow to annex property at certain addresses on Peacock Boulevard pursuant to Chapter 36 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated. The proposed zoning classification of the property upon annexation is RS-80. The current Clayton County zoning is RS-110.

 

1.      Second Reading of Ordinance 2006-02 to annex: 6390, 6398, 6408, 6418, 6426, 6438, 6443, 6456, and 6457 Peacock Boulevard.

 

Councilman Sorrow made a motion to adopt Ordinance 2006-02, seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

1.      Request for review of plat for Harbin Terrace Subdivision located in Land Lot 141 of the 12th District of Clayton County, Morrow, GA.

 

The Mayor noted that the Planning and Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval. Councilman Huie confirmed with City Manager Lampl that this is not final approval for each lot. Councilman Huie also noted that the Planning and Zoning Board clarified that the dam is a Category One and the lake will be available to all residents in the neighborhood.

 

Councilman Huie made a motion to approve, seconded by Councilman LaPorte. The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:40 pm.
