Regular Council Meeting

Mayor Jim Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA, 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                         Work Session – February 12 , 2008        

Regular Meeting – February 12 , 2008

Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Huie. The motion passed unanimously.

PROCLAMATION:

Mayor Millirons presented a Proclamation honoring Captain Mike Byrd for his years of service in the Morrow Fire Department.

PRESENTATION:

VIPS volunteers Cee Viola and Charlie Slater along with the Morrow Reserves Unit and the Morrow VIPS Unit were recognized nationally under Presidential seal and signature for their service to the police department. Chief Baker made a presentation in appreciation for their dedication and in honor of this recognition. 

OLD BUSINESS: No Old Business

NEW BUSINESS:

Item 1:            Chief Jeff Baker requested the declaration of a 1987 GMC Jimmy VIN#1GKLS13W4P2520590 as surplus property and the authority to dispose of this property in keeping with all applicable laws.

Councilman Huie made a motion to declare the item surplus, seconded by Councilman Barfield. The motion passed unanimously.

COMMENTS:

Mayor Millirons commended the volunteers for their major contributions to the City of Morrow.

Mayor Jim Millirons adjourned the meeting at 7:43 pm.
