Mayor Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

 

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:                        Work Session               -  August 9, 2005        

                                                                        Regular Meeting           -  August 9, 2005

 

                                                Councilman Sorrow made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Councilman Huie.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

 

PRESENTATIONS:              1. Mayor Millirons presented a Proclamation declaring September 17 through 23 “CONSTITUTION WEEK.” The document was presented to Becky West, Regent of the Augustin Clayton Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

                                               

                                                2. Mayor Millirons presented a 10 year service pin to Police Officer Wayne Butler.

NEW BUSINESS:

 

Item 1:            Resolution 2005-12 adopting Morrow’s LCI 5 Year Update was presented.

                       

                        Councilman LaPorte made a motion to adopt the Resolution, seconded by Councilman Slaton.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

Item 2:            Petition to annex certain properties on Carla Drive, Lake Harbin Road, and Meadowbrook Lane.

 

Councilman Huie made a motion to accept the petition, seconded by Councilman Sorrow.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

COMMENTS:

Citizens:                                    A citizen asked questions about the redevelopment of Southlake Mall and the boardwalk family entertainment district.

 

 

Mayor:                                     Mayor Millirons thanked the citizen for his comments and interest in the City. He assured all citizens that the City is working diligently to achieve a vision that always keeps the citizen’s best interests in mind.   

 

 

 

 


 

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 8:00 pm.
