Mayor Millirons called the regular meeting of the Morrow City Council to order at 7:30 p.m.  The meeting took place in the Council Chambers of the Morrow Municipal Complex, 1500 Morrow Road, Morrow, GA 30260.  Everyone stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag.  Councilman Sorrow gave the invocation.

 

 

APPROVAL OF MINUTES:           Work Session            -  April 12, 2005       

                                                            Regular Meeting        -  April 12, 2005

 

Councilman Sorrow made the motion to approve the minutes as written, seconded by Councilman Slaton.  The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

PRESENTATION:        Beautiful Yard Contest: distribution of awards and presentation showcasing the winners.

RECOGNITION:        CERT/Citizens Corps celebrates their second anniversary in the City of Morrow. Morrow’s CERT team was the first deployable team in the State of Georgia and more than 200 volunteer hours are donated each month by team members. This team is a valuable asset to the City and we appreciate them greatly.

 

 

 

OLD BUSINESS:          No old business.

 

 

 

NEW BUSINESS:

 

 

Item 1:  Clayton County Water Authority. Mike Thomas from CCWA presented the intergovernmental agreement for Stormwater Utility.

 

 

Item 2:  Land surveyor Angel Marrero petitioned for the subdivision of property known as Parcel 12-111C-00C-0003, located between Southlake Parkway and Nolan Court.

 

Councilman LaPorte made the motion to approve the subdivision of the property. Before seconding the motion, Councilman Huie encouraged Mr. Marrero to work with Public Works and the City Manager. The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

 

Comments:

 

 

Councilman LaPorte thanked Jim Duckworth for volunteering with CERT.

 

Councilman Huie echoed an appreciation for the CERT team.

 

The Mayor and Councilman Sorrow also voiced their appreciation for the efforts of the CERT team.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mayor Millirons adjourned the meeting at 8:05 pm.
