Transportation Issues
The City, in corporation with Clayton County Transportation & Development, and the Georgia Department of Transportation will mill & resurface Old Rex Morrow Road and Clayton State Blvd. Work will begin in late March and will be complete in Early April.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has let the contract for bid for the new Highway 54 Bridge, Lee St. Bridge, Railroad Bridge and interchange improvement project. The new Highway 54 Bridge will be 8 lanes, 3 thru lanes North & South, and 2 left turn pockets to North I-75 with sidewalk being constructed along the North side of the bridge. A new dedicated lane to Southlake Mall from Southbound exit ramp and a left turn lane into Southlake Parkway will be added. Also, highmast lighting will be installed at the interchange.
