City Parks Issues/Updates

 

  • Melvin and Jean Newman neighborhood park is now open to the public. The new park is located at the intersection of Old Rex Morrow Rd. and Regan Chase Dr. and includes playground equipment, a walking path, park benches, and new landscaping material. Click here to see the layout of the park.

  • A design concept was approved by the Mayor & Council for Barton Memorial Park, which is located on Meadowbrook Lane at the I-75 overpass. The park encompasses several new features and is a multiyear phased construction process that began in 2007. The plan is a work in progress and features may be added, deleted, or revised during the process. Click here to see the layout of the park.

  • Construction is complete on phase one of the Jesters Creek pathway. Phase 1 connects the City via a series of concrete pathways which begins at Reynolds Rd. and moves south along Jesters Creek to Oakridge Dr. and Monterey Dr. The City looks to begin construction on phase 2 of the path during the summer of 2009. Phase 2 will begin along Jesters Creek and move South to Millirons Park located at the intersection of Morrow Rd. and Graceland Cir.

  • The first phase of renovation & construction is underway at Milton Daniel Park located adjacent to Morrow City Hall. Phase one of the project includes two new large pieces of playground equipment, a new swing set and a new large open green space area for play and relaxation. Phase one will be ready for use on May 15, 2009.
