City Parks Issues/Updates

 

  • Construction is underway for the long awaited Jesters Creek pathway. Phase 1 begins at Reynolds Rd. and moves south along Jesters Creek to Oakridge Dr. and Monterey Dr. Anticipated completion for phase 1 is for July of 2008.

  • Clearing is underway for a new park to be located near the Regan Chase subdivision on Old Rex Morrow Rd. The new park will include a playground, walking path, park benches, and new landscaping material. Click here to see the layout of the park.

  • A design concept was approved by the Mayor & Council for Barton Memorial Park, which is located on Meadowbrook Lane at the I-75 overpass. The park encompasses several new features and is a multiyear phased construction process that began in 2007. The plan is a work in progress and features may be added, deleted, or revised during the process. Click here to see the layout of the park.

  • The Public Works Department won the City Department Presentation and Display Competition at the 2007 "Day in the Park". The display included a power point presentation, equipment & vehicles, and interactive events for kids such as the Home Depot Construction Table, Piņatas, and Toy and plant give a ways.
