On September 18th, 2006 the Morrow Police Department conducted a P.R.O.U.D. meeting in the Foxcroft subdivision. P.R.O.U.D. meetings are held in
the subdivisions and provide an opportunity for residents and officers to interact and to voice concerns to one another. Residents received
information about the services the Police Department provides and the Department received feedback on areas for improvement. The Morrow Police
Department views these opportunities to interact as vital to community relations and looks forward to conducting them every year. P.R.O.U.D.
meeting are conducted annually in all Morrow Subdivisions, look forward to receiving information on your neighborhood’s P.R.O.U.D. meeting.

![]() Over the course of the year, the Police Department has hosted P.R.O.U.D. meetings throughout the city. At these meeting we discussed Current event topics, SUCH AS: Morrow Police Department was presented the “Governor’s
Challenge Cup”. This is the highest award in the State and is
presented by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. Crime Prevention, including how to be safe and minimize the chance of being a victim. Morrow is currently installing a red light enforcement camera at Jonesboro Road and Morrow/Lake Harbin Road, and at Jonesboro Road and Mt. Zion Road. For the first 30 days that it is in use, violators will receive warnings only, after that tickets will be issued by mail. The camera takes multiple pictures of the violation as it occurs. Be aware they will be going in service in the very near future. Tickets only go to violators who cross the intersection after it turns red. These red light cameras along with 10 Radar signs permanently placed in various locations throughout the city will make our streets safer. V.I.P.S. (Volunteers in Police Service) Class at Morrow Police Department began last Thursday, it’s not too late to sign up. If interested Call Stacy Moore at 770.961.4006 or stacymoore@cityofmorrow.com. This class is being held to build a resource base of civilian volunteers to assist the Police Department in day to day activities. You will be trained on Traffic Direction, Crowd Control, CPR, surveillance and many other useful areas. After completion of the class, participants will be issued a uniform and a badge similar to the police officers in the city. Sign up for the Citizens Police Academy This class is 7 weeks long and gives you a behind the scenes look ar the Morrow Police Department. We meet every Thursday night at the Morrow Police Department for 2 hours. This class covers topics such as Uniform Patrol functions, Criminal Investigations Division, and the VICE Unit. Safe Halloween will be held again on Halloween Night from 6PM until 8PM in the City Hall Park. Please join us for a fun and safe evening of Candy, games and prizes and inflatables. This will be a great event that the city provides for it’s residents. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Jester’s Creek Pedestrian Path System phase 1 was held on Monday, September 10. This path system will follow Jesters creek and provide a walking and jogging path for our enjoyment. More phases to come. By now you have seen the historic homes rolling into the OLDE MORROW district. These homes will be renovated and transform the area into a family oriented entertainment destination. Look for all sorts of excitement here over the coming months. Soon we will all be able to enjoy this wonderful development including the lake which gives Southlake its name. The district is under design by Morrow’s own Ernest Duffey. This project continues to generate a lot of interest and it will be a major component of the revitalization of the Southlake Mall area. developing a $40 million dollar project in the city. This project will include
dorms, an activity building, and a business education building. Also We encourage you to go to www.cityofmorrow.com and complete the citizen survey. By participating in this survey, you will assist us in allocating our resources, and give us feed back about the services we provide. ![]() |
