National Telecommunicator’s Week: April 10th -16th


Each year, the second full week of April is dedicated to the men and women who serve as Public Safety Telecommunicators/Communication Officer’s.

Everyday in the City of Morrow, many people depend on the skill, expertise and commitment of Morrow’s Emergency Communication Officers. The Officers answer both emergency and non-emergency calls for help and utilizes industry leading technology to help provide prompt and efficient help. The center operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In 2004, the center handled 64,515 calls for service and traffic stops and 69,938 telephone calls (18,846 of which were cell phone calls).

On Tuesday, April 12th, 2005, the Mayor and City Council recognized the Communication Officers and issued a proclamation, proclaiming April 10th - 16th 2005 as "National Telecommunicator’s Week in the City of Morrow."
