GOVERNMENT - FIRE DEPARTMENT

To Protect and Serve

Residents and visitors can be assured that they are protected at all times by Morrow's Fire Department. We strive to minimize the loss of life and property by providing efficient and effective fire suppression, emergency medical aid, fire prevention and public education services to the community. This couldn't be accomplished without employing fire fighters who are dedicated to providing a high degree of professionalism combined with constant operational readiness. Our city officials have provided the most modern and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure the overall mission of our department.

Our fire department boasts an ISO Class 3 rating, on which insurance companies base their premiums. Businesses and homeowners alike benefit from this high rating. The department also has a contract with Lake City to provide fire and EMS services for their city.

The Morrow Fire Department employs 31 staff members, who work 8-10 person shifts. Our team works the traditional 24 hours on, 48 hours off, schedule you've come to expect with a top-notch Fire Department. They boast two life support ambulances, two engines, a 105' ladder truck and a command vehicle to ensure the maximum safety of citizens as well as visitors. They also have a chief car, a fire Marshal car, a chase car, a one-ton pick up truck, a hazardous material decontamination trailer, a mass casualty trailer and a fire safety house trailer. The Morrow Fire department is clearly well prepared to protect citizens and visitors of Morrow.

Representatives from our fire department travel throughout Morrow and Lake City to teach children and adults about fire safety. Local elementary schools have adopted a "Learn Not to Burn" curriculum, which teaches fire safety to 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders. Fire department personnel teach the school's teachers how to properly implement the curriculum, proving that the Morrow Fire Department goes above and beyond to protect their citizens.
