EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS

The City of Morrow Emergency Communications Department is accepting resumes for the position of Communications Officer. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, 18 years of age, drug free and background check. College experience is preferred, as is a state certification. FIRE DEPARTMENT

The fire department is made up of firefighter/EMT and firefighter/paramedics. Candidates certified as paramedics with the State of Georgia or National Registered will be considered first.

All candidates for employment for The City of Morrow must have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years of age, pass a background check, be drug free, possess a valid driver license, and have no criminal history. The ideal candidate will have an Associates degree or be actively working towards one. Competitive salary and benefits with a tuition reimbursement program for approved college courses. Salary DOQ, minimum for a certified Firefighter/EMT is $31,000, and certified Firefighter/Paramedic is $35,000.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

The City of Morrow Police Department is accepting applications for the position of part-time police officer. Minimum requirements are Georgia POST certification and the ability to pass a thorough background investigation. Starting pay is $15.50 an hour to $17.50 an hour DOQ. Minimum qualifications for a Morrow police officer include: Current Georgia POST Certification or volunteer experience with the City of Morrow, a valid Georgia drivers license, high school diploma/GED, and be 21 years of age. The ideal candidate will have college/military background, POST certification, and previous law enforcement experience. The City of Morrow is an equal opportunity employer.

The Morrow Police Department is a progressive, community-oriented police department. Therefore, exceptional people skills and professional work ethic are necessary. Entry-level salary is $39,000 for certified officer (DOQ). Female and minority applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

The City of Morrow Police Department has a physical agility test that new applicants must pass. The test consists of a run, along with practical stations that simulate a police officer's physical requirements while on the job.
